Clinical supervision is an essential part of therapeutic practice and is an ongoing requirement for accreditation and membership of regulatory organisations such as the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP) amongst many others.
Clinical supervision allows therapists to discuss clinical cases and reflect on their practice in a safe, supportive environment. We can offer individual reflective practice/supervision sessions for other psychologists/counsellors/psychotherapists and trainees/students from our Therapy Centre in Ayr, or remotely via video or phone.
Our approach is pluralistic, incorporating different therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioural and person-centred. Our team are experienced with integrative psychotherapy, using
a formulation-driven approach utilising skills and theoretical insights from the various
training they have undertaken throughout their professional careers.
Our Clinical Lead, Gemma is a qualified and experienced Clinical Supervisor, having completed a Professional Certificate in the Supervision of Psychotherapists at Strathclyde University. She is also an Approved Supervisor with the British Psychological Society, where she appears on the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).
Gemma was employed as a Clinical Supervisor on the Diploma in CBT at the Centre of Therapy, Glasgow, where she supervised students and trainee therapists. She was also Lead CBT Psychotherapist and Therapeutic Coordinator within a secure psychiatric hospital, providing clinical supervision for Mental Health Nurses and other Healthcare professionals working with patients with severe and enduring mental health problems.
